All of our sunglasses are designed to be universally flattering for both men and women, and have undergone two years of research and prototyping to be the perfect fit for all face shapes. The Westward Leaning collection now includes four shapes: Pioneer, Voyager, Project Vanguard, and Concorde. All Westward Leaning sunglasses are hand assembled at our studio in San Francisco and feature a unique material on the frame’s temple in honor of a human achievement.

Our very first frame shape, Pioneer is our universally flattering interpretation of the classic wayfarer.

Both the round shape and universal fit of our Voyager frame is inspired by the Golden Record carried on all Voyager spacecraft.

Project Vanguard

Project Vanguard is a modern take on the classic half-frame shape featuring a mixed-material frame of metal and acetate.

Concorde is our version of the aviator, or “pilot’s glasses,” and features a mixed-material frame of metal and acetate.

Westward Leaning launched in San Francisco in 2012 with a simple idea: to make products that are equally beautiful and meaningful. Our premise is that social causes and progressive issues shouldn’t just be an afterthought, or a marketing pitch. Instead, they should be an integral part of everything from the product's design to how we use its proceeds.

Each pair of Westward Leaning sunglasses carries its own unique story. At Westward Leaning’s San Francisco studio, our team of artisans and jewelers handcraft each pair of sunglasses using traditional techniques perfected over thousands of years. They cut, weave, sew, and sand the frames’ unique accent materials before they are inlaid in our frames by hand. Every single component of our sunglasses and unique packaging is subject to our rigorous quality control. From our home to yours: at Westward Leaning we believe the special touches make all the difference.
